Churchill's Metaphorical Dog
Churchill never had a dog like this, but sometimes this dog had Churchill.
His "black dog" was the clinical depression that plagued him throughout his life. I was intrigued by the idea that a mood (or more accurately, a medical condition) could find its embodiment in a living creature; and I wondered how the animal would look.
This dog is all head (the part with teeth), and it crowds the image area, seemingly seeking to burst from its pictorial cage. Its mouth is blood red, and what limited color is visible elsewhere is harsh and unnatural.
There is no bark here, only bite.
