Precarious
Everything about this piece (the pose, the setting, the cropping, the color) is odd. Even the model was odd: She had a very masculine physique, with almost no taper at the waist. When she became pregnant (which she is, in this picture) the effect was...yes, pretty odd.
Given her condition, it is fortunate that this rather cockeyed setting (I can't remember what it was, exactly) did not collapse and send her crashing to the floor. Mother and child (yes, both of them) survived to offer their services again.
This is a digital "oil" recreation of a crayon sketch created in about twenty minutes from a live model. The same model (with a face, this time) appears in my picture "Thirty Weeks."
